Health and Safety Policy

 

It is the policy of County Tree Services to promote the safety and well being of the staff while at work (including any site work), and to visitors/contractors to the company’s premises.

It is the company’s policy that all practical steps will be taken to ensure the health of persons and prevent damage to equipment.

It is the duty of all employees to conform to the company policy and safety codes of practice, and to accept and carry out their responsibilities.

All safety legislation, such as the Health & Safety at Work etc Act, Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations, Work at Height Regulations, COSHH etc, are to be complied with at all times, but this in itself is not enough. All employees should contribute towards making the work area as safe as possible; all work methods should be periodically appraised to ensure that the safest practical methods are adopted.

The Owner gives full backing to this policy, and will support those who endeavour to carry it out.

 

General Statement of Health and Safety Policy

 

Purpose: To provide a business framework for the development and maintenance of effective management systems to ensure a safe and healthy workplace with regard to the Company’s activities and undertakings.

Scope: All Company employees, operations and facilities.

Responsibilities: The Proprietor is responsible for ensuring the safety and health of his employees and others who may be affected by the Company’s activities. 

·        Employees are required to participate actively in, and accept individual responsibility for health and safety matters and work with the Company to assure compliance and support continuous improvement.

 

Policy: Reflecting its commitment to health and safety, the Company will protect the safety and health of its employees, customers, contractors and others affected by its activities by:

·         Providing adequate control of risks arising from work activities;

·         Consulting employees and sub-contractors on matters affecting their health and safety;

·         Providing and maintaining safe plant and equipment;

·         Ensuring the safe handling and use of substances;

·         Providing information, instruction and supervision for all employees;

·         Ensuring all employees are competent to perform their tasks and provide adequate training;

·         Preventing accidents and cases of work-related ill health;

·         Maintaining safe and healthy working conditions;

·         Committing to continuous improvement of health and safety;

·         Complying with legal requirements and internal health and safety standards;

·         Making health and safety integral to all business processes, planning and decision making;

·         Reviewing this policy annually or when changes in circumstances dictate, to ensure validity.
